Sad 38:62

قَالُوا۟ بَلْ أَنتُمْ لَا مَرْحَبًۢا بِكُمْ ۖ أَنتُمْ قَدَّمْتُمُوهُ لَنَا ۖ فَبِئْسَ ٱلْقَرَارُ

38:60 — They will say, "Nor you! No welcome for you. You, [our leaders], brought this upon us, and wretched is the settlement."

قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا مَن قَدَّمَ لَنَا هَـٰذَا فَزِدْهُ عَذَابًا ضِعْفًا فِى ٱلنَّارِ

38:61 — They will say, "Our Lord, whoever brought this upon us - increase for him double punishment in the Fire."

وَقَالُوا۟ مَا لَنَا لَا نَرَىٰ رِجَالًا كُنَّا نَعُدُّهُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَشْرَارِ

Ahmed Ali

And will add: "O what has happened to us that we do not see the men we counted among the wicked.

Ahmed Raza Khan

And they say, “What is the matter with us that we do not see the men whom we thought were evil?”

Arberry

They say, 'How is it with us, that we do not see men here that we counted among the wicked?

Daryabadi

And they will Say: what aileth us that we behold not men whom we were wont to count among the evil ones?

And they will say: "What is the matter with us that we see not men whom we used to count among the bad ones?"

And they will say, “What is it with us that we do not see men we used to count among the wicked?

They will say to one another: “But why do we not see those whom we considered him among the wicked?

And they will say: "What is the matter with us that we see not men whom we used to count among the bad ones"

And they say: What aileth us that we behold not men whom we were wont to count among the wicked?

And they will say, ‘Why is it that we do not see [here] men whom we used to count among the bad ones,

And they will say: 'Why do we not see the men that we counted as being among the wicked in here?

And they will say, "Why do we not see men whom we used to count among the worst?

But why is it that we cannot see men whom we had considered as wicked

And they shall say: What is the matter with us that we do not see men whom we used to count among the vicious?

And they will say, "How is it that we do not see [here any of the] men whom we used to count among the wicked,

And they will say: "What has happened to us that we see not men whom we used to number among the bad ones?

Transliteration

Waqaloo ma lana la nara rijalan kunna naAAudduhum mina alashrari

أَتَّخَذْنَـٰهُمْ سِخْرِيًّا أَمْ زَاغَتْ عَنْهُمُ ٱلْأَبْصَـٰرُ

38:63 — Is it [because] we took them in ridicule, or has [our] vision turned away from them?"

إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ لَحَقٌّ تَخَاصُمُ أَهْلِ ٱلنَّارِ

38:64 — Indeed, that is truth - the quarreling of the people of the Fire.
