Al-Mu'minun 23:77

وَلَوْ رَحِمْنَـٰهُمْ وَكَشَفْنَا مَا بِهِم مِّن ضُرٍّ لَّلَجُّوا۟ فِى طُغْيَـٰنِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ

23:75 — And even if We gave them mercy and removed what was upon them of affliction, they would persist in their transgression, wandering blindly.

وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَـٰهُم بِٱلْعَذَابِ فَمَا ٱسْتَكَانُوا۟ لِرَبِّهِمْ وَمَا يَتَضَرَّعُونَ

23:76 — And We had gripped them with suffering [as a warning], but they did not yield to their Lord, nor did they humbly supplicate, [and will continue thus]

حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَابًا ذَا عَذَابٍ شَدِيدٍ إِذَا هُمْ فِيهِ مُبْلِسُونَ

Ahmed Ali

So that when at last We open up the gate of severe punishment on them they will be overwhelmed with despair.

To the extent that when We opened the gate of a severe punishment for them, they thereupon lie despairingly in it.

Transliteration

Hatta itha fatahna AAalayhim baban tha AAathabin shadeedin itha hum feehi mublisoona

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنشَأَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَٱلْأَبْصَـٰرَ وَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَ ۚ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ

23:78 — And it is He who produced for you hearing and vision and hearts; little are you grateful.

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى ذَرَأَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ

23:79 — And it is He who has multiplied you throughout the earth, and to Him you will be gathered.
