Sad 38:46

وَخُذْ بِيَدِكَ ضِغْثًا فَٱضْرِب بِّهِۦ وَلَا تَحْنَثْ ۗ إِنَّا وَجَدْنَـٰهُ صَابِرًا ۚ نِّعْمَ ٱلْعَبْدُ ۖ إِنَّهُۥٓ أَوَّابٌ

38:44 — [We said], "And take in your hand a bunch [of grass] and strike with it and do not break your oath." Indeed, We found him patient, an excellent servant. Indeed, he was one repeatedly turning back [to Allah].

وَٱذْكُرْ عِبَـٰدَنَآ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْحَـٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ أُو۟لِى ٱلْأَيْدِى وَٱلْأَبْصَـٰرِ

38:45 — And remember Our servants, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - those of strength and [religious] vision.

إِنَّآ أَخْلَصْنَـٰهُم بِخَالِصَةٍ ذِكْرَى ٱلدَّارِ

We distinguished them for the distinct remembrance of the abode (of the Hereafter).

We indeed gave them distinction with a genuine affair – the remembrance of the (everlasting) abode.

Assuredly We purified them with a quality most pure, the remembrance of the Abode,

Verily We! We distinguished them with a distinct quality: the remembrance of the Abode.

Verily, We did choose them by granting them (a good thing, i.e.) the remembrance of the home [in the Hereafter and they used to make the people remember it, and also they used to invite the people to obey Allah and to do good deeds for the Hereafter].

We distinguished them with a distinct quality: the remembrance of the Home.

Maududi

Verily We exalted them in consideration of a sterling quality: their remembrance of the Abode of the Hereafter.

Verily, We did choose them by granting them the remembrance of the Abode.

Lo! We purified them with a pure thought, remembrance of the Home (of the Hereafter).

Indeed We purified them with exclusive remembrance of the abode [of the Hereafter].

Indeed, We purified them with a most pure quality, the remembrance of the Everlasting Life.

Indeed, We chose them for an exclusive quality: remembrance of the home [of the Hereafter].

Sarwar

We gave them this pure distinction because of their continual remembrance of the Day of Judgment.

Shakir

Surely We purified them by a pure quality, the keeping in mind of the (final) abode.

Wahiduddin Khan

We chose them for a special [purpose] -- proclaiming the message of the Hereafter:

Verily We did choose them for a special (purpose)- proclaiming the Message of the Hereafter.

Transliteration

Inna akhlasnahum bikhalisatin thikra alddari

وَإِنَّهُمْ عِندَنَا لَمِنَ ٱلْمُصْطَفَيْنَ ٱلْأَخْيَارِ

38:47 — And indeed they are, to Us, among the chosen and outstanding.

وَٱذْكُرْ إِسْمَـٰعِيلَ وَٱلْيَسَعَ وَذَا ٱلْكِفْلِ ۖ وَكُلٌّ مِّنَ ٱلْأَخْيَارِ

38:48 — And remember Ishmael, Elisha and Dhul-Kifl, and all are among the outstanding.
