Sad 38:18

وَقَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا عَجِّل لَّنَا قِطَّنَا قَبْلَ يَوْمِ ٱلْحِسَابِ

38:16 — And they say, "Our Lord, hasten for us our share [of the punishment] before the Day of Account"

ٱصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَٱذْكُرْ عَبْدَنَا دَاوُۥدَ ذَا ٱلْأَيْدِ ۖ إِنَّهُۥٓ أَوَّابٌ

38:17 — Be patient over what they say and remember Our servant, David, the possessor of strength; indeed, he was one who repeatedly turned back [to Allah].

إِنَّا سَخَّرْنَا ٱلْجِبَالَ مَعَهُۥ يُسَبِّحْنَ بِٱلْعَشِىِّ وَٱلْإِشْرَاقِ

Ahmed Ali

We subjugated the chiefs (of tribes) to struggle day and night with him,

Ahmed Raza Khan

Indeed We subjected the hills to say the praise with him, at night and at morn.

Arberry

With him We subjected the mountains to give glory at evening and sunrise,

Daryabadi

Verily We so subjected the mountains that they should hallow Us with him at nightfall and sunrise.

Hilali & Khan

Verily, We made the mountains to glorify Our Praises with him [Dawud (David)] in the 'Ashi (i.e. after the mid-day till sunset) and Ishraq (i.e. after the sunrise till mid-day).

Itani

We committed the mountains to glorify with him, in the evening and at daybreak.

With him We had subjected the mountains that they join him in celebrating Allah's glory, evening and morning,

Verily, We made the mountains to glorify Our praises with him in the `Ashi and Ishraq.

Surely We made the mountains to sing the glory (of Allah) in unison with him at the evening and the sunrise,

We made the mountains join him in glorifying Us at sunset and sunrise;

Yusuf Ali

It was We that made the hills declare, in unison with him, Our Praises, at eventide and at break of day,

Transliteration

Inna sakhkharna aljibala maAAahu yusabbihna bialAAashiyyi waalishraqi

وَٱلطَّيْرَ مَحْشُورَةً ۖ كُلٌّ لَّهُۥٓ أَوَّابٌ

38:19 — And the birds were assembled, all with him repeating [praises].

وَشَدَدْنَا مُلْكَهُۥ وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُ ٱلْحِكْمَةَ وَفَصْلَ ٱلْخِطَابِ

38:20 — And We strengthened his kingdom and gave him wisdom and discernment in speech.
