Al-Qasas 28:66

وَقِيلَ ٱدْعُوا۟ شُرَكَآءَكُمْ فَدَعَوْهُمْ فَلَمْ يَسْتَجِيبُوا۟ لَهُمْ وَرَأَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ ۚ لَوْ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ يَهْتَدُونَ

28:64 — And it will be said, "Invoke your 'partners' " and they will invoke them; but they will not respond to them, and they will see the punishment. If only they had followed guidance!

وَيَوْمَ يُنَادِيهِمْ فَيَقُولُ مَاذَآ أَجَبْتُمُ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

28:65 — And [mention] the Day He will call them and say, "What did you answer the messengers?"

فَعَمِيَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْأَنۢبَآءُ يَوْمَئِذٍ فَهُمْ لَا يَتَسَآءَلُونَ

Ahmed Ali

Then all news will be blacked out for them, and they will not even ask one another.

So on that Day the tidings will be blinded* for them, therefore they will not ask one another. (* They will forget at that moment).

Arberry

Upon that day the tidings will be darkened for them, nor will they ask each other.

Daryabadi

Bedimmed unto them shall be all excuses on that Day, wherefore they shall not be able to ask one of another.

Hilali & Khan

Then the news of a good answer will be obscured to them on that day, and they will not be able to ask one another.

Itani

They will be blinded by the facts on that Day, and they will not question each other.

Maududi

Then they will not be able to think of any reply, nor will they be able to ask one another.

Mubarakpuri

Then the news of a good answer will be obscured to them on that Day, and they will not be able to ask one another.

Pickthall

On that day (all) tidings will be dimmed for them, nor will they ask one of another,

That day all information will be withheld from them, so they will not question one another.

Qaribullah & Darwish

And on that Day the news will be blinded for them, and they will not ask each other.

Saheeh International

But the information will be unapparent to them that Day, so they will not [be able to] ask one another.

Sarwar

The door to all answers will be closed to them and they will not even be able to ask one another.

Shakir

Then the pleas shall become obscure to them on that day, so they shall not ask each other.

Wahiduddin Khan

They will be left speechless on that Day, and they will not be able to consult each other.

Yusuf Ali

Then the (whole) story that Day will seem obscure to them (like light to the blind) and they will not be able (even) to question each other.

Transliteration

FaAAamiyat AAalayhimu alanbao yawmaithin fahum la yatasaaloona

فَأَمَّا مَن تَابَ وَءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَـٰلِحًا فَعَسَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُفْلِحِينَ

28:67 — But as for one who had repented, believed, and done righteousness, it is promised by Allah that he will be among the successful.

وَرَبُّكَ يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَآءُ وَيَخْتَارُ ۗ مَا كَانَ لَهُمُ ٱلْخِيَرَةُ ۚ سُبْحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ وَتَعَـٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ

28:68 — And your Lord creates what He wills and chooses; not for them was the choice. Exalted is Allah and high above what they associate with Him.
