Al-Furqan 25:47

أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَيْفَ مَدَّ ٱلظِّلَّ وَلَوْ شَآءَ لَجَعَلَهُۥ سَاكِنًا ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَا ٱلشَّمْسَ عَلَيْهِ دَلِيلًا

25:45 — Have you not considered your Lord - how He extends the shadow, and if He willed, He could have made it stationary? Then We made the sun for it an indication.

ثُمَّ قَبَضْنَـٰهُ إِلَيْنَا قَبْضًا يَسِيرًا

25:46 — Then We hold it in hand for a brief grasp.

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلَّيْلَ لِبَاسًا وَٱلنَّوْمَ سُبَاتًا وَجَعَلَ ٱلنَّهَارَ نُشُورًا

Ahmed Ali

It is He who made the night a covering for you; and made sleep for rest, the day for rising.

And it is He Who made the night a veil for you, and the sleep a rest, and made the day for getting up.

It is He who appointed the night for you to be a garment and sleep for a rest, and day He appointed for a rising.

And it is He who hath made for you the night a covering, and the sleep; repose, and hath made the day a resurrection.

And it is He Who makes the night a covering for you, and the sleep (as) repose, and makes the day Nushur (i.e. getting up and going about here and there for daily work, etc. after one's sleep at night or like resurrection after one's death).

And it is He who made the night a covering for you, and sleep for rest; and He made the day a revival.

And it is Allah Who has ordained the night as a garment for you, and the sleep as a repose of death, and the day as the time of return to life.

And He it is Who makes the Night as a Robe for you, and Sleep as Repose, and makes the Day (as it were) a Resurrection.

Transliteration

Wahuwa allathee jaAAala lakumu allayla libasan waalnnawma subatan wajaAAala alnnahara nushooran

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَرْسَلَ ٱلرِّيَـٰحَ بُشْرًۢا بَيْنَ يَدَىْ رَحْمَتِهِۦ ۚ وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً طَهُورًا

25:48 — And it is He who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy, and We send down from the sky pure water

لِّنُحْـِۧىَ بِهِۦ بَلْدَةً مَّيْتًا وَنُسْقِيَهُۥ مِمَّا خَلَقْنَآ أَنْعَـٰمًا وَأَنَاسِىَّ كَثِيرًا

25:49 — That We may bring to life thereby a dead land and give it as drink to those We created of numerous livestock and men.
