Al-Furqan 25:43

وَإِذَا رَأَوْكَ إِن يَتَّخِذُونَكَ إِلَّا هُزُوًا أَهَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِى بَعَثَ ٱللَّهُ رَسُولًا

25:41 — And when they see you, [O Muhammad], they take you not except in ridicule, [saying], "Is this the one whom Allah has sent as a messenger?

إِن كَادَ لَيُضِلُّنَا عَنْ ءَالِهَتِنَا لَوْلَآ أَن صَبَرْنَا عَلَيْهَا ۚ وَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ حِينَ يَرَوْنَ ٱلْعَذَابَ مَنْ أَضَلُّ سَبِيلًا

25:42 — He almost would have misled us from our gods had we not been steadfast in [worship of] them." But they are going to know, when they see the punishment, who is farthest astray in [his] way.

أَرَءَيْتَ مَنِ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَـٰهَهُۥ هَوَىٰهُ أَفَأَنتَ تَكُونُ عَلَيْهِ وَكِيلًا

Ahmed Ali

Have you considered him who takes his own lust for his god? Can you stand a surety for him?

Ahmed Raza Khan

Did you see the one who chose his own desires as his God? So will you accept the responsibility of guarding him?

Arberry

Hast thou seen him who has taken his caprice to be his god? Wilt thou be a guardian over them?

Daryabadi

Hast thou observed him who hath taken as his god his own desire! wilt thou be over him a trustee?

Hilali & Khan

Have you (O Muhammad SAW) seen him who has taken as his ilah (god) his own desire? Would you then be a Wakil (a disposer of his affairs or a watcher) over him?

Itani

Have you seen him who chose his desire as his god? Would you be an agent for him?

Maududi

Have you ever considered the case of the person who has made his lust his god? Can you take the responsibility of guiding such a one aright?

Mubarakpuri

Have you seen him who has taken as his god his own vain desire Would you then be a guardian over him

Pickthall

Hast thou seen him who chooseth for his god his own lust? Wouldst thou then be guardian over him?

Qarai

Have you seen him who has taken his desire to be his god? Is it your duty to watch over him?

Qaribullah & Darwish

Have you seen him who has made gods of his own desires? Would you be a guardian over him?

Saheeh International

Have you seen the one who takes as his god his own desire? Then would you be responsible for him?

Sarwar

How can you be the guardian of those who have chosen their own desires as their Lord?

Shakir

Have you seen him who takes his low desires for his god? Will you then be a protector over him?

Wahiduddin Khan

Have you seen him who has taken his own desire to be his god? Can you be a guardian over him?

Yusuf Ali

Seest thou such a one as taketh for his god his own passion (or impulse)? Couldst thou be a disposer of affairs for him?

Transliteration

Araayta mani ittakhatha ilahahu hawahu afaanta takoonu AAalayhi wakeelan

أَمْ تَحْسَبُ أَنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ يَسْمَعُونَ أَوْ يَعْقِلُونَ ۚ إِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا كَٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ ۖ بَلْ هُمْ أَضَلُّ سَبِيلًا

25:44 — Or do you think that most of them hear or reason? They are not except like livestock. Rather, they are [even] more astray in [their] way.

أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَيْفَ مَدَّ ٱلظِّلَّ وَلَوْ شَآءَ لَجَعَلَهُۥ سَاكِنًا ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَا ٱلشَّمْسَ عَلَيْهِ دَلِيلًا

25:45 — Have you not considered your Lord - how He extends the shadow, and if He willed, He could have made it stationary? Then We made the sun for it an indication.
