Maryam 19:18

وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ مَرْيَمَ إِذِ ٱنتَبَذَتْ مِنْ أَهْلِهَا مَكَانًا شَرْقِيًّا

19:16 — And mention, [O Muhammad], in the Book [the story of] Mary, when she withdrew from her family to a place toward the east.

فَٱتَّخَذَتْ مِن دُونِهِمْ حِجَابًا فَأَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَيْهَا رُوحَنَا فَتَمَثَّلَ لَهَا بَشَرًا سَوِيًّا

19:17 — And she took, in seclusion from them, a screen. Then We sent to her Our Angel, and he represented himself to her as a well-proportioned man.

قَالَتْ إِنِّىٓ أَعُوذُ بِٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ مِنكَ إِن كُنتَ تَقِيًّا

Ahmed Ali

"I seek refuge in the Merciful from you, if you fear Him," she said.

She said, “I seek the refuge of the Most Gracious from you – if you fear God.”

She said, 'I take refuge in the All-merciful from thee!

She said: verily seek refuge with the Compassionate from thee if thou art God-fearing.

She said: "Verily! I seek refuge with the Most Beneficent (Allah) from you, if you do fear Allah."

She said, “I take refuge from you in the Most Merciful, should you be righteous.”

Maududi

Mary exclaimed: "I surely take refuge from you with the Most Compassionate Lord, if you are at all God-fearing."

She said: "Verily, I seek refuge with the Most Gracious (Allah) from you, if you do fear Allah."

She said: Lo! I seek refuge in the Beneficent One from thee, if thou art Allah-fearing.

She said, ‘I seek the protection of the All-beneficent from you, should you be Godwary!’

She said, "Indeed, I seek refuge in the Most Merciful from you, [so leave me], if you should be fearing of Allah."

Mary said, "Would that the Beneficent God would protect me from you. Leave me alone if you are a God fearing person".

Shakir

She said: Surely I fly for refuge from you to the Beneficent Allah, if you are one guarding (against evil).

Wahiduddin Khan

When she saw him, she said, "I seek refuge in the compassionate God from you; [do not come near] if you fear the Lord."

Yusuf Ali

She said: "I seek refuge from thee to (Allah) Most Gracious: (come not near) if thou dost fear Allah."

Transliteration

Qalat innee aAAoothu bialrrahmani minka in kunta taqiyyan

قَالَ إِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ رَسُولُ رَبِّكِ لِأَهَبَ لَكِ غُلَـٰمًا زَكِيًّا

19:19 — He said, "I am only the messenger of your Lord to give you [news of] a pure boy."

قَالَتْ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى غُلَـٰمٌ وَلَمْ يَمْسَسْنِى بَشَرٌ وَلَمْ أَكُ بَغِيًّا

19:20 — She said, "How can I have a boy while no man has touched me and I have not been unchaste?"
