An-Nur 24:48

لَّقَدْ أَنزَلْنَآ ءَايَـٰتٍ مُّبَيِّنَـٰتٍ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ يَهْدِى مَن يَشَآءُ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ

24:46 — We have certainly sent down distinct verses. And Allah guides whom He wills to a straight path.

وَيَقُولُونَ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَبِٱلرَّسُولِ وَأَطَعْنَا ثُمَّ يَتَوَلَّىٰ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ ۚ وَمَآ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

24:47 — But the hypocrites say, "We have believed in Allah and in the Messenger, and we obey"; then a party of them turns away after that. And those are not believers.

وَإِذَا دُعُوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَهُمْ إِذَا فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ

Ahmed Ali

When they are called to God and His Prophet, that he may judge between them, a section of them turns away.

Ahmed Raza Khan

And when called towards Allah and His Noble Messenger in order that the Noble Messenger may judge between them, thereupon a group among them turns away.

Arberry

When they are called to God and His Messenger that he may judge between them, lo, a party of them are swerving aside;

Daryabadi

And when they are called to Allah and His apostle that he may judge between them, lo! a party of them are averters.

Hilali & Khan

And when they are called to Allah (i.e. His Words, the Quran) and His Messenger (SAW), to judge between them, lo! a party of them refuse (to come) and turn away.

And when they are called to God and His Messenger, in order to judge between them, some of them refuse.

When they are called to Allah and His Messenger so that the Messenger may judge between them, a party of them turns away.

When they are summoned to Allah and His messenger, in order that He may judge between them, behold some of them decline (to come).

Transliteration

Waitha duAAoo ila Allahi warasoolihi liyahkuma baynahum itha fareequn minhum muAAridoona

وَإِن يَكُن لَّهُمُ ٱلْحَقُّ يَأْتُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِ مُذْعِنِينَ

24:49 — But if the right is theirs, they come to him in prompt obedience.

أَفِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ أَمِ ٱرْتَابُوٓا۟ أَمْ يَخَافُونَ أَن يَحِيفَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَرَسُولُهُۥ ۚ بَلْ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ

24:50 — Is there disease in their hearts? Or have they doubted? Or do they fear that Allah will be unjust to them, or His Messenger? Rather, it is they who are the wrongdoers.
