Ta-Ha 20:125

قَالَ ٱهْبِطَا مِنْهَا جَمِيعًۢا ۖ بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّ ۖ فَإِمَّا يَأْتِيَنَّكُم مِّنِّى هُدًى فَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ هُدَاىَ فَلَا يَضِلُّ وَلَا يَشْقَىٰ

20:123 — [Allah] said, "Descend from Paradise - all, [your descendants] being enemies to one another. And if there should come to you guidance from Me - then whoever follows My guidance will neither go astray [in the world] nor suffer [in the Hereafter].

وَمَنْ أَعْرَضَ عَن ذِكْرِى فَإِنَّ لَهُۥ مَعِيشَةً ضَنكًا وَنَحْشُرُهُۥ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ أَعْمَىٰ

20:124 — And whoever turns away from My remembrance - indeed, he will have a depressed life, and We will gather him on the Day of Resurrection blind."

قَالَ رَبِّ لِمَ حَشَرْتَنِىٓ أَعْمَىٰ وَقَدْ كُنتُ بَصِيرًا

He will ask: "O Lord, why have you raised me blind when I was able to see?"

Ahmed Raza Khan

He will say, “O my Lord, why have You raised me blind, whereas I was sighted?”

Arberry

He shall say, 'O my Lord, why hast thou raised me blind, and I was wont to see?'

Daryabadi

He will say: O my Lord! why hast Thou gathered me sightless whereas surely I have been a seer.

Hilali & Khan

He will say:"O my Lord! Why have you raised me up blind, while I had sight (before)."

Itani

He will say, “My Lord, why did You raise me blind, though I was seeing?”

Maududi

where-upon he will say: "Lord! Why have You raised me blind when I had sight in the world?"

Mubarakpuri

He will say: "O my Lord! Why have you raised me up blind, while I had sight (before)."

Pickthall

He will say: My Lord! Wherefor hast Thou gathered me (hither) blind, when I was wont to see?

Qarai

He will say, ‘My Lord! Why have You raised me blind, though I used to see?’

Qaribullah & Darwish

'My Lord' he will say: 'why have You raised me blind when I was able to see'

Saheeh International

He will say, "My Lord, why have you raised me blind while I was [once] seeing?"

Sarwar

He will say, "My Lord, why have you brought me back to life blind; before I could see?"

Shakir

He shall say: My Lord! why hast Thou raised me blind and I was a seeing one indeed?

Wahiduddin Khan

and he will ask, "Lord, why have You raised me up blind, while I possessed sight before?"

Yusuf Ali

He will say: "O my Lord! why hast Thou raised me up blind, while I had sight (before)?"

Transliteration

Qala rabbi lima hashartanee aAAma waqad kuntu baseeran

قَالَ كَذَٰلِكَ أَتَتْكَ ءَايَـٰتُنَا فَنَسِيتَهَا ۖ وَكَذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمَ تُنسَىٰ

20:126 — [Allah] will say, "Thus did Our signs come to you, and you forgot them; and thus will you this Day be forgotten."

وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى مَنْ أَسْرَفَ وَلَمْ يُؤْمِنۢ بِـَٔايَـٰتِ رَبِّهِۦ ۚ وَلَعَذَابُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ أَشَدُّ وَأَبْقَىٰٓ

20:127 — And thus do We recompense he who transgressed and did not believe in the signs of his Lord. And the punishment of the Hereafter is more severe and more enduring.
