Maryam 19:59

وَرَفَعْنَـٰهُ مَكَانًا عَلِيًّا

19:57 — And We raised him to a high station.

أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ مِن ذُرِّيَّةِ ءَادَمَ وَمِمَّنْ حَمَلْنَا مَعَ نُوحٍ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّةِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ وَمِمَّنْ هَدَيْنَا وَٱجْتَبَيْنَآ ۚ إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَـٰتُ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ خَرُّوا۟ سُجَّدًا وَبُكِيًّا ۩

19:58 — Those were the ones upon whom Allah bestowed favor from among the prophets of the descendants of Adam and of those We carried [in the ship] with Noah, and of the descendants of Abraham and Israel, and of those whom We guided and chose. When the verses of the Most Merciful were recited to them, they fell in prostration and weeping.

فَخَلَفَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ أَضَاعُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ ٱلشَّهَوَٰتِ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيًّا

Ahmed Ali

But they are succeeded by a generation who neglect their devotional obligations and follow only earthly pleasures; but they will reach the wrong road and meet destruction,

And after them came the unworthy successors who squandered prayer and pursued their own desires, so they will soon encounter the forest of Gai in hell.

Arberry

Then there succeeded after them a succession who wasted the prayer, and followed lusts; so they shall encounter error

Daryabadi

Then there succeeded to them a posterity who neglected the prayers and followed lusts; so presently they shall meet with perdition. *Chapter: 19

Hilali & Khan

Then, there has succeeded them a posterity who have given up As-Salat (the prayers) [i.e. made their Salat (prayers) to be lost, either by not offering them or by not offering them perfectly or by not offering them in their proper fixed times, etc.] and have followed lusts. So they will be thrown in Hell.

Itani

But they were succeeded by generations who lost the prayers and followed their appetites. They will meet perdition.

Maududi

They were succeeded by a people who neglected the Prayers and pursued their lusts. They shall presently meet with their doom,

Mubarakpuri

Then, there has succeeded them a posterity who have lost the Salah and have followed lusts. So they will meet Ghaiy.

Pickthall

Now there hath succeeded them a later generation whom have ruined worship and have followed lusts. But they will meet deception.

Qarai

But they were succeeded by an evil posterity who neglected the prayer, and followed [their base] appetites. So they will soon encounter [the reward of] perversity,

Qaribullah & Darwish

But the generation that succeeded them wasted their prayers and followed their desires, so they shall encounter error

Saheeh International

But there came after them successors who neglected prayer and pursued desires; so they are going to meet evil -

Sarwar

They were succeeded by a generation who neglected their prayers and followed their worldly desires. They will certainly be lost,

Shakir

But there came after them an evil generation, who neglected prayers and followed and sensual desires, so they win meet perdition,

Wahiduddin Khan

But then they were succeeded by generations who neglected their prayers and were driven by their own desires. They will assuredly meet with destruction,

Yusuf Ali

But after them there followed a posterity who missed prayers and followed after lusts soon, then, will they face Destruction,-

Transliteration

Fakhalafa min baAAdihim khalfun adaAAoo alssalata waittabaAAoo alshshahawati fasawfa yalqawna ghayyan

إِلَّا مَن تَابَ وَءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَـٰلِحًا فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ يَدْخُلُونَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ وَلَا يُظْلَمُونَ شَيْـًٔا

19:60 — Except those who repent, believe and do righteousness; for those will enter Paradise and will not be wronged at all.

جَنَّـٰتِ عَدْنٍ ٱلَّتِى وَعَدَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ عِبَادَهُۥ بِٱلْغَيْبِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ وَعْدُهُۥ مَأْتِيًّا

19:61 — [Therein are] gardens of perpetual residence which the Most Merciful has promised His servants in the unseen. Indeed, His promise has ever been coming.
