Al-Kahf 18:97

قَالَ مَا مَكَّنِّى فِيهِ رَبِّى خَيْرٌ فَأَعِينُونِى بِقُوَّةٍ أَجْعَلْ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهُمْ رَدْمًا

18:95 — He said, "That in which my Lord has established me is better [than what you offer], but assist me with strength; I will make between you and them a dam.

ءَاتُونِى زُبَرَ ٱلْحَدِيدِ ۖ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا سَاوَىٰ بَيْنَ ٱلصَّدَفَيْنِ قَالَ ٱنفُخُوا۟ ۖ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَعَلَهُۥ نَارًا قَالَ ءَاتُونِىٓ أُفْرِغْ عَلَيْهِ قِطْرًا

18:96 — Bring me sheets of iron" - until, when he had leveled [them] between the two mountain walls, he said, "Blow [with bellows]," until when he had made it [like] fire, he said, "Bring me, that I may pour over it molten copper."

فَمَا ٱسْطَـٰعُوٓا۟ أَن يَظْهَرُوهُ وَمَا ٱسْتَطَـٰعُوا۟ لَهُۥ نَقْبًا

Ahmed Ali

Thus (Gog and Magog) could neither climb over it nor dig a hole through (the rampart).

Ahmed Raza Khan

Therefore Yajuj and Majuj were neither able to surmount it, nor could they pierce it.

Arberry

So they were unable either to scale it or pierce it.

Daryabadi

Thus they Were not able to mount it, nor Were they able to burrow through it.

Hilali & Khan

So they [Ya'juj and Ma'juj (Gog and Magog)] were made powerless to scale it or dig through it.

Itani

So they were unable to climb it, and they could not penetrate it.

Maududi

Such was the rampart that Gog and Magog could not scale, nor could they pierce it.

Mubarakpuri

So they could not scale it or dig through it.

Pickthall

And (Gog and Magog) were not able to surmount, nor could they pierce (it).

Qarai

So they could neither scale it, nor could they make a hole in it.

Qaribullah & Darwish

Thereafter they could neither scale it, nor could they pierce it.

Saheeh International

So Gog and Magog were unable to pass over it, nor were they able [to effect] in it any penetration.

Sarwar

(Thus he constructed the barrier which) neither Gog nor Magog were able to climb nor were they able to dig a tunnel through the iron and brass barrier.

Shakir

So they were not able to scale it nor could they make a hole in it.

Wahiduddin Khan

So they [Gog and Magog] were not able to scale it, nor were they able to bore through it,

Yusuf Ali

Thus were they made powerless to scale it or to dig through it.

Transliteration

Fama istaAAoo an yathharoohu wama istataAAoo lahu naqban

قَالَ هَـٰذَا رَحْمَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّى ۖ فَإِذَا جَآءَ وَعْدُ رَبِّى جَعَلَهُۥ دَكَّآءَ ۖ وَكَانَ وَعْدُ رَبِّى حَقًّا

18:98 — [Dhul-Qarnayn] said, "This is a mercy from my Lord; but when the promise of my Lord comes, He will make it level, and ever is the promise of my Lord true."

وَتَرَكْنَا بَعْضَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَمُوجُ فِى بَعْضٍ ۖ وَنُفِخَ فِى ٱلصُّورِ فَجَمَعْنَـٰهُمْ جَمْعًا

18:99 — And We will leave them that day surging over each other, and [then] the Horn will be blown, and We will assemble them in [one] assembly.
