Al-Isra 17:108

وَقُرْءَانًا فَرَقْنَـٰهُ لِتَقْرَأَهُۥ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ عَلَىٰ مُكْثٍ وَنَزَّلْنَـٰهُ تَنزِيلًا

17:106 — And [it is] a Qur'an which We have separated [by intervals] that you might recite it to the people over a prolonged period. And We have sent it down progressively.

قُلْ ءَامِنُوا۟ بِهِۦٓ أَوْ لَا تُؤْمِنُوٓا۟ ۚ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْعِلْمَ مِن قَبْلِهِۦٓ إِذَا يُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ يَخِرُّونَ لِلْأَذْقَانِ سُجَّدًا

17:107 — Say, "Believe in it or do not believe. Indeed, those who were given knowledge before it - when it is recited to them, they fall upon their faces in prostration,

وَيَقُولُونَ سُبْحَـٰنَ رَبِّنَآ إِن كَانَ وَعْدُ رَبِّنَا لَمَفْعُولًا

Ahmed Ali

And say: "Glory be to our Lord. The promise of our Lord has indeed been fulfilled."

And they say, “Purity is to our Lord – indeed the promise of our Lord had to come true.”

Arberry

and say, "Glory be to our Lord! Our Lord's promise is performed."

Daryabadi

And they say: hallowed be our Lord! the promise of Our Lord was ever to have been fulfilled.

Hilali & Khan

And they say: "Glory be to our Lord! Truly, the Promise of our Lord must be fulfilled."

Itani

And they say, “Glory to our Lord. The promise of our Lord is fulfilled.”

Maududi

and say: "Glory be to our Lord. Surely the promise of our Lord was bound to be fulfilled."

Mubarakpuri

And they say: "Glory be to our Lord! Truly, the promise of our Lord must be fulfilled."

Pickthall

Saying: Glory to our Lord! Verily the promise of our Lord must be fulfilled.

Qarai

and say, ‘‘Immaculate is our Lord! Indeed Our Lord’s promise is bound to be fulfilled.’’

and say, "Exaltations be to our Lord! The promise of our Lord is done.'

Saheeh International

And they say, "Exalted is our Lord! Indeed, the promise of our Lord has been fulfilled."

They say, "Our Lord is too Glorious to disregard His promise".

And they say: Glory be to our Lord! most surely the promise of our Lord was to be fulfilled.

Wahiduddin Khan

and say, "Glory to our Lord! Our Lord's promise is bound to be fulfilled."

Yusuf Ali

"And they say: 'Glory to our Lord! Truly has the promise of our Lord been fulfilled!'"

Transliteration

Wayaqooloona subhana rabbina in kana waAAdu rabbina lamafAAoolan

وَيَخِرُّونَ لِلْأَذْقَانِ يَبْكُونَ وَيَزِيدُهُمْ خُشُوعًا ۩

17:109 — And they fall upon their faces weeping, and the Qur'an increases them in humble submission.

قُلِ ٱدْعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ أَوِ ٱدْعُوا۟ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنَ ۖ أَيًّا مَّا تَدْعُوا۟ فَلَهُ ٱلْأَسْمَآءُ ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ ۚ وَلَا تَجْهَرْ بِصَلَاتِكَ وَلَا تُخَافِتْ بِهَا وَٱبْتَغِ بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ سَبِيلًا

17:110 — Say, "Call upon Allah or call upon the Most Merciful. Whichever [name] you call - to Him belong the best names." And do not recite [too] loudly in your prayer or [too] quietly but seek between that an [intermediate] way.
