An-Nahl 16:39

إِن تَحْرِصْ عَلَىٰ هُدَىٰهُمْ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِى مَن يُضِلُّ ۖ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّـٰصِرِينَ

16:37 — [Even] if you should strive for their guidance, [O Muhammad], indeed, Allah does not guide those He sends astray, and they will have no helpers.

وَأَقْسَمُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ جَهْدَ أَيْمَـٰنِهِمْ ۙ لَا يَبْعَثُ ٱللَّهُ مَن يَمُوتُ ۚ بَلَىٰ وَعْدًا عَلَيْهِ حَقًّا وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

16:38 — And they swear by Allah their strongest oaths [that] Allah will not resurrect one who dies. But yes - [it is] a true promise [binding] upon Him, but most of the people do not know.

لِيُبَيِّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلَّذِى يَخْتَلِفُونَ فِيهِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ كَـٰذِبِينَ

Ahmed Ali

For (they fear) He might make what they differed about plain to them, and that the infidels may realise that they were liars.

Ahmed Raza Khan

In order that He may make clear to them the matter in which they differed, and the disbelievers may realise that they were liars.

Arberry

so that He may make clear to them that whereon they were at variance, and that the unbelievers may know that they were truly liars.

Daryabadi

This will be in order that he may manifest unto them that wherein they differ, and that those who disbelieved should come to know that they had been liars.

Hilali & Khan

In order that He may make manifest to them the truth of that wherein they differ, and that those who disbelieved (in Resurrection, and in the Oneness of Allah) may know that they were liars.

Itani

To clarify for them what they differed about, and for the faithless to know that they were liars.

Maududi

(That is bound to happen in order that) He may make clear to them the reality regarding the matters on which they differ and that the unbelievers may realize that they were liars.

Mubarakpuri

In order that He may make clear to them what they differed over, and so that those who disbelieved may know that they were liars.

Pickthall

That He may explain unto them that wherein they differ, and that those who disbelieved may know that they were liars.

Qarai

so that He may clarify for them what they differ about, and that the faithless may know that they were liars.

Qaribullah & Darwish

This is in order that He may make clear to them that which they differed upon, and in order that those who disbelieve might know that they were indeed lying.

Saheeh International

[It is] so He will make clear to them [the truth of] that wherein they differ and so those who have disbelieved may know that they were liars.

Sarwar

(Through the resurrection) God wants to make a clear distinction between right and wrong and make the unbelievers know that they were liars.

Shakir

So that He might make manifest to them that about which they differ, and that those who disbelieve might know that they were liars.

Wahiduddin Khan

this is so that He may make clear to them what they have differed about and so that those who are bent on denying the truth may realize that they were lying.

Yusuf Ali

(They must be raised up), in order that He may manifest to them the truth of that wherein they differ, and that the rejecters of Truth may realise that they had indeed (surrendered to) Falsehood.

Transliteration

Liyubayyina lahumu allathee yakhtalifoona feehi waliyaAAlama allatheena kafaroo annahum kanoo kathibeena

إِنَّمَا قَوْلُنَا لِشَىْءٍ إِذَآ أَرَدْنَـٰهُ أَن نَّقُولَ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ

16:40 — Indeed, Our word to a thing when We intend it is but that We say to it, "Be," and it is.

وَٱلَّذِينَ هَاجَرُوا۟ فِى ٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا ظُلِمُوا۟ لَنُبَوِّئَنَّهُمْ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً ۖ وَلَأَجْرُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ ۚ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُونَ

16:41 — And those who emigrated for [the cause of] Allah after they had been wronged - We will surely settle them in this world in a good place; but the reward of the Hereafter is greater, if only they could know.
