At-Tawbah 9:125

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ قَـٰتِلُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ يَلُونَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْكُفَّارِ وَلْيَجِدُوا۟ فِيكُمْ غِلْظَةً ۚ وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ

9:123 — O you who have believed, fight those adjacent to you of the disbelievers and let them find in you harshness. And know that Allah is with the righteous.

وَإِذَا مَآ أُنزِلَتْ سُورَةٌ فَمِنْهُم مَّن يَقُولُ أَيُّكُمْ زَادَتْهُ هَـٰذِهِۦٓ إِيمَـٰنًا ۚ فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ فَزَادَتْهُمْ إِيمَـٰنًا وَهُمْ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ

9:124 — And whenever a surah is revealed, there are among the hypocrites those who say, "Which of you has this increased faith?" As for those who believed, it has increased them in faith, while they are rejoicing.

وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ فَزَادَتْهُمْ رِجْسًا إِلَىٰ رِجْسِهِمْ وَمَاتُوا۟ وَهُمْ كَـٰفِرُونَ

Ahmed Ali

But it adds disbelief to disbelief for those whose hearts are filled with doubt, and they die disbelieving.

Ahmed Raza Khan

And for those in whose hearts is a disease, it has added filth to their filth, and they died as disbelievers.

Arberry

But as for those in whose heart is sickness, them it has increased in abomination added to their abomination, and they have died while they were unbelievers.

Daryabadi

And as for those in whose hearts is a disease, unto them it hath increased pollution to their pollution, and they die while they are infidels.

Hilali & Khan

But as for those in whose hearts is a disease (of doubt, disbelief and hypocrisy), it will add suspicion and doubt to their suspicion, disbelief and doubt, and they die while they are disbelievers.

Itani

But as for those in whose hearts is sickness: it adds disgrace to their disgrace, and they die as unbelievers.

Maududi

But those whose hearts are affected with the disease (of hypocrisy), every new surah added a fresh abomination to their abomination. They remained unbelievers till their death.

Mubarakpuri

But as for those in whose hearts is a disease, it will add Rijs (doubt) to their Rijs (doubt); and they die while they are disbelievers.

Pickthall

But as for those in whose hearts is disease, it only addeth wickedness to their wickedness, and they die while they are disbelievers.

But as for those in whose heart is a sickness, it only adds defilement to their defilement, and they die while they are faithless.

Qaribullah & Darwish

As for those whose hearts are diseased, they will be increased in filth added to their filth, so that they die as unbelievers.

Saheeh International

But as for those in whose hearts is disease, it has [only] increased them in evil [in addition] to their evil. And they will have died while they are disbelievers.

Sarwar

But to those whose hearts are sick, it adds more filth to their hearts and they die as disbelievers.

Shakir

And as for those in whose hearts is a disease, it adds uncleanness to their uncleanness and they die while they are unbelievers.

Wahiduddin Khan

but as for those with sickness in their hearts, it adds defilement to their defilement and they die in a state of denial of truth.

Yusuf Ali

But those in whose hearts is a disease,- it will add doubt to their doubt, and they will die in a state of Unbelief.

Transliteration

Waamma allatheena fee quloobihim maradun fazadathum rijsan ila rijsihim wamatoo wahum kafiroona

أَوَلَا يَرَوْنَ أَنَّهُمْ يُفْتَنُونَ فِى كُلِّ عَامٍ مَّرَّةً أَوْ مَرَّتَيْنِ ثُمَّ لَا يَتُوبُونَ وَلَا هُمْ يَذَّكَّرُونَ

9:126 — Do they not see that they are tried every year once or twice but then they do not repent nor do they remember?

وَإِذَا مَآ أُنزِلَتْ سُورَةٌ نَّظَرَ بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَىٰ بَعْضٍ هَلْ يَرَىٰكُم مِّنْ أَحَدٍ ثُمَّ ٱنصَرَفُوا۟ ۚ صَرَفَ ٱللَّهُ قُلُوبَهُم بِأَنَّهُمْ قَوْمٌ لَّا يَفْقَهُونَ

9:127 — And whenever a surah is revealed, they look at each other, [saying], "Does anyone see you?" and then they dismiss themselves. Allah has dismissed their hearts because they are a people who do not understand.
