Al-Anfal 8:14

إِذْ يُوحِى رَبُّكَ إِلَى ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ أَنِّى مَعَكُمْ فَثَبِّتُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ۚ سَأُلْقِى فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ ٱلرُّعْبَ فَٱضْرِبُوا۟ فَوْقَ ٱلْأَعْنَاقِ وَٱضْرِبُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ كُلَّ بَنَانٍ

8:12 — [Remember] when your Lord inspired to the angels, "I am with you, so strengthen those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieved, so strike [them] upon the necks and strike from them every fingertip."

ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ شَآقُّوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ ۚ وَمَن يُشَاقِقِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ

8:13 — That is because they opposed Allah and His Messenger. And whoever opposes Allah and His Messenger - indeed, Allah is severe in penalty.

ذَٰلِكُمْ فَذُوقُوهُ وَأَنَّ لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ

Ahmed Ali

For you is this (punishment) to taste, for the infidels the torment of Hell.

Ahmed Raza Khan

Therefore taste this for now, and along with it for the disbelievers is the punishment of fire.

Arberry

That for you; therefore taste it; and that the chastisement of the Fire is for the unbelievers.

Daryabadi

This! taste it then, and know that for the infidels is the torment of the Fire.

Hilali & Khan

This is the torment, so taste it, and surely for the disbelievers is the torment of the Fire.

“Here it is; so taste it.” For the disbelievers there is the suffering of the Fire.

That is your punishment (from Allah). So taste this punishment, and know that for the unbelievers is the punishment of the Fire.

This is (the torment), so taste it; and surely, for the disbelievers is the torment of the Fire.

"That [is yours], so taste it." And indeed for the disbelievers is the punishment of the Fire.

We will say to them, "Endure the torment (as a consequence of your evil deeds); the unbelievers deserve nothing better than (the torment) of fire."

This-- taste it, and (know) that for the unbelievers is the chastisement of fire.

Wahiduddin Khan

That is your punishment, taste it then; and know that for those who deny the truth there is the punishment of the Fire.

Yusuf Ali

Thus (will it be said): "Taste ye then of the (punishment): for those who resist Allah, is the penalty of the Fire."

Transliteration

Thalikum fathooqoohu waanna lilkafireena AAathaba alnnari

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِذَا لَقِيتُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ زَحْفًا فَلَا تُوَلُّوهُمُ ٱلْأَدْبَارَ

8:15 — O you who have believed, when you meet those who disbelieve advancing [for battle], do not turn to them your backs [in flight].

وَمَن يُوَلِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ دُبُرَهُۥٓ إِلَّا مُتَحَرِّفًا لِّقِتَالٍ أَوْ مُتَحَيِّزًا إِلَىٰ فِئَةٍ فَقَدْ بَآءَ بِغَضَبٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَمَأْوَىٰهُ جَهَنَّمُ ۖ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمَصِيرُ

8:16 — And whoever turns his back to them on such a day, unless swerving [as a strategy] for war or joining [another] company, has certainly returned with anger [upon him] from Allah, and his refuge is Hell - and wretched is the destination.
