Al-Araf 7:39

فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا أَوْ كَذَّبَ بِـَٔايَـٰتِهِۦٓ ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ يَنَالُهُمْ نَصِيبُهُم مِّنَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ ۖ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُنَا يَتَوَفَّوْنَهُمْ قَالُوٓا۟ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ قَالُوا۟ ضَلُّوا۟ عَنَّا وَشَهِدُوا۟ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ كَـٰفِرِينَ

7:37 — And who is more unjust than one who invents about Allah a lie or denies His verses? Those will attain their portion of the decree until when Our messengers come to them to take them in death, they will say, "Where are those you used to invoke besides Allah?" They will say, "They have departed from us," and will bear witness against themselves that they were disbelievers.

قَالَ ٱدْخُلُوا۟ فِىٓ أُمَمٍ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ وَٱلْإِنسِ فِى ٱلنَّارِ ۖ كُلَّمَا دَخَلَتْ أُمَّةٌ لَّعَنَتْ أُخْتَهَا ۖ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا ٱدَّارَكُوا۟ فِيهَا جَمِيعًا قَالَتْ أُخْرَىٰهُمْ لِأُولَىٰهُمْ رَبَّنَا هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ أَضَلُّونَا فَـَٔاتِهِمْ عَذَابًا ضِعْفًا مِّنَ ٱلنَّارِ ۖ قَالَ لِكُلٍّ ضِعْفٌ وَلَـٰكِن لَّا تَعْلَمُونَ

7:38 — [Allah] will say, "Enter among nations which had passed on before you of jinn and mankind into the Fire." Every time a nation enters, it will curse its sister until, when they have all overtaken one another therein, the last of them will say about the first of them "Our Lord, these had misled us, so give them a double punishment of the Fire. He will say, "For each is double, but you do not know."

وَقَالَتْ أُولَىٰهُمْ لِأُخْرَىٰهُمْ فَمَا كَانَ لَكُمْ عَلَيْنَا مِن فَضْلٍ فَذُوقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْسِبُونَ

Ahmed Ali

Then the former will say to the latter: "You have no privilege over us. So taste the punishment for what you had done."

Ahmed Raza Khan

And the preceding groups will say to the latter, “So you too were no better than us, therefore taste the punishment for what you have done!”

Arberry

The first of them shall say to the last of them, 'You have no superiority over us, then; so taste the chastisement for what you have been earning.'

Daryabadi

And the first of them will say unto the last of them: ye have then no preference over us; taste then the torment for that which ye were wont to earn.

Hilali & Khan

The first of them will say to the last of them: "You were not better than us, so taste the torment for what you used to earn."

Itani

The first of them will say to the last of them, “You have no advantage over us, so taste the torment for what you used to earn.”

Maududi

Then the preceding ones will say to the succeeding ones: 'You were in no way superior to us; taste, then, this torment for your deeds.'

Mubarakpuri

The first of them will say to the last of them: "You were not better than us, so taste the torment for what you used to earn."

Pickthall

And the first of them saith unto the last of them: Ye were no whit better than us, so taste the doom for what ye used to earn.

Qarai

And the first of them will say to the last of them, ‘You have no merit over us! So taste the punishment because of what you used to earn.’

Qaribullah & Darwish

Then, the first will say to the last: 'You were no better than us' So taste the punishment for what you have earned.

Saheeh International

And the first of them will say to the last of them, "Then you had not any favor over us, so taste the punishment for what you used to earn."

Sarwar

The first will then say, "You are no better than us; suffer the torment as the result of your deeds.

Shakir

And the foremost of them will say to the last of them: So you have no preference over us; therefore taste the chastisement for what you earned.

Wahiduddin Khan

then the preceding one will say to the succeeding one: you are no better than us: so taste the punishment you have earned."

Yusuf Ali

Then the first will say to the last: "See then! No advantage have ye over us; so taste ye of the penalty for all that ye did!"

Transliteration

Waqalat oolahum liokhrahum fama kana lakum AAalayna min fadlin fathooqoo alAAathaba bima kuntum taksiboona

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا وَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ عَنْهَا لَا تُفَتَّحُ لَهُمْ أَبْوَٰبُ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَلَا يَدْخُلُونَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ حَتَّىٰ يَلِجَ ٱلْجَمَلُ فِى سَمِّ ٱلْخِيَاطِ ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ

7:40 — Indeed, those who deny Our verses and are arrogant toward them - the gates of Heaven will not be opened for them, nor will they enter Paradise until a camel enters into the eye of a needle. And thus do We recompense the criminals.

لَهُم مِّن جَهَنَّمَ مِهَادٌ وَمِن فَوْقِهِمْ غَوَاشٍ ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

7:41 — They will have from Hell a bed and over them coverings [of fire]. And thus do We recompense the wrongdoers.
