Al-Araf 7:102

أَوَلَمْ يَهْدِ لِلَّذِينَ يَرِثُونَ ٱلْأَرْضَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ أَهْلِهَآ أَن لَّوْ نَشَآءُ أَصَبْنَـٰهُم بِذُنُوبِهِمْ ۚ وَنَطْبَعُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَسْمَعُونَ

7:100 — Has it not become clear to those who inherited the earth after its [previous] people that if We willed, We could afflict them for their sins? But We seal over their hearts so they do not hear.

تِلْكَ ٱلْقُرَىٰ نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ أَنۢبَآئِهَا ۚ وَلَقَدْ جَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ فَمَا كَانُوا۟ لِيُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِمَا كَذَّبُوا۟ مِن قَبْلُ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يَطْبَعُ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ

7:101 — Those cities - We relate to you, [O Muhammad], some of their news. And certainly did their messengers come to them with clear proofs, but they were not to believe in that which they had denied before. Thus does Allah seal over the hearts of the disbelievers.

وَمَا وَجَدْنَا لِأَكْثَرِهِم مِّنْ عَهْدٍ ۖ وَإِن وَجَدْنَآ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَفَـٰسِقِينَ

Ahmed Ali

We did not find many of them faithful to their promises, and found many of them disobedient.

Ahmed Raza Khan

And We found most of them not true to their words; and indeed We found most of them disobedient.

Arberry

We found no covenant in the most part of them; indeed, We found the most part of them ungodly.

Daryabadi

And We found no covenant in most of them; and most of them We found ungodly.

Hilali & Khan

And most of them We found not (true) to their covenant, but most of them We found indeed Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah).

Itani

We found most of them untrue to their covenants; We found most of them corrupt.

Maududi

We did not find most of them true to their covenants; indeed We found most of them to he transgressors.

Mubarakpuri

And most of them We found not true to their covenant, but most of them We found indeed rebellious.

Pickthall

We found no (loyalty to any) covenant in most of them. Nay, most of them We found wrong-doers.

Qarai

We did not find in most of them any [loyalty to] covenants. Indeed, We found most of them to be transgressors.

Qaribullah & Darwish

We did not find the covenant upheld by the majority of them, but We found most of them evildoers.

Saheeh International

And We did not find for most of them any covenant; but indeed, We found most of them defiantly disobedient.

Sarwar

We did not find many among them keeping their promises. However, We did find many evil-doers among them.

Shakir

And We did not find in most of them any (faithfulness to) covenant, and We found most of them to be certainly transgressors.

Wahiduddin Khan

We found most of them untrue to their covenants, indeed We found most of them to be defiant.

Yusuf Ali

Most of them We found not men (true) to their covenant: but most of them We found rebellious and disobedient.

Transliteration

Wama wajadna liaktharihim min AAahdin wain wajadna aktharahum lafasiqeena

ثُمَّ بَعَثْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِم مُّوسَىٰ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَإِي۟هِۦ فَظَلَمُوا۟ بِهَا ۖ فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ

7:103 — Then We sent after them Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his establishment, but they were unjust toward them. So see how was the end of the corrupters.

وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ يَـٰفِرْعَوْنُ إِنِّى رَسُولٌ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

7:104 — And Moses said, "O Pharaoh, I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds
