An-Nisa 4:98

دَرَجَـٰتٍ مِّنْهُ وَمَغْفِرَةً وَرَحْمَةً ۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا

4:96 — Degrees [of high position] from Him and forgiveness and mercy. And Allah is ever Forgiving and Merciful.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ تَوَفَّىٰهُمُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ ظَالِمِىٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ قَالُوا۟ فِيمَ كُنتُمْ ۖ قَالُوا۟ كُنَّا مُسْتَضْعَفِينَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ قَالُوٓا۟ أَلَمْ تَكُنْ أَرْضُ ٱللَّهِ وَٰسِعَةً فَتُهَاجِرُوا۟ فِيهَا ۚ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ مَأْوَىٰهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ ۖ وَسَآءَتْ مَصِيرًا

4:97 — Indeed, those whom the angels take [in death] while wronging themselves - [the angels] will say, "In what [condition] were you?" They will say, "We were oppressed in the land." The angels will say, "Was not the earth of Allah spacious [enough] for you to emigrate therein?" For those, their refuge is Hell - and evil it is as a destination.

إِلَّا ٱلْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَ مِنَ ٱلرِّجَالِ وَٱلنِّسَآءِ وَٱلْوِلْدَٰنِ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ حِيلَةً وَلَا يَهْتَدُونَ سَبِيلًا

Ahmed Ali

But those who are helpless, men, women and children, who can neither contrive a plan nor do they know the way,

Except those who were forcibly subdued among men, and the women and children, unable to devise a plan and unaware of the way.

except the men, women, and children who, being abased, can devise nothing and are not guided to a way;

Excepting the weak ones among men, women and children, unable to find a stratagem and not guided to a way.

Hilali & Khan

Except the weak ones among men, women and children who cannot devise a plan, nor are they able to direct their way.

Itani

Except for the weak among men, and women, and children who have no means to act, and no means to find a way out.

except the men, women, and children who were indeed too feeble to be able to seek the means of escape and did not know where to go.-

Except the weak ones among men, women and children who cannot devise a plan, nor are they able to direct their way.

As for the really weak and oppressed men, women, and children who were not able to find any means of obtaining their freedom or of having the right guidance,

Except the weak from among the men and the children who have not in their power the means nor can they find a way (to escape);

except such weak ones among men, women and children, as are incapable of adopting any plan or of finding any way out.

Yusuf Ali

Except those who are (really) weak and oppressed - men, women, and children - who have no means in their power, nor (a guide-post) to their way.

Transliteration

Illa almustadAAafeena mina alrrijali waalnnisai waalwildani la yastateeAAoona heelatan wala yahtadoona sabeelan

فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ عَسَى ٱللَّهُ أَن يَعْفُوَ عَنْهُمْ ۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَفُوًّا غَفُورًا

4:99 — For those it is expected that Allah will pardon them, and Allah is ever Pardoning and Forgiving.

وَمَن يُهَاجِرْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ يَجِدْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُرَٰغَمًا كَثِيرًا وَسَعَةً ۚ وَمَن يَخْرُجْ مِنۢ بَيْتِهِۦ مُهَاجِرًا إِلَى ٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ ثُمَّ يُدْرِكْهُ ٱلْمَوْتُ فَقَدْ وَقَعَ أَجْرُهُۥ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا

4:100 — And whoever emigrates for the cause of Allah will find on the earth many [alternative] locations and abundance. And whoever leaves his home as an emigrant to Allah and His Messenger and then death overtakes him - his reward has already become incumbent upon Allah. And Allah is ever Forgiving and Merciful.
