Al-Anbiya 21:88

وَأَدْخَلْنَـٰهُمْ فِى رَحْمَتِنَآ ۖ إِنَّهُم مِّنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ

21:86 — And We admitted them into Our mercy. Indeed, they were of the righteous.

وَذَا ٱلنُّونِ إِذ ذَّهَبَ مُغَـٰضِبًا فَظَنَّ أَن لَّن نَّقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ فَنَادَىٰ فِى ٱلظُّلُمَـٰتِ أَن لَّآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنتَ سُبْحَـٰنَكَ إِنِّى كُنتُ مِنَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

21:87 — And [mention] the man of the fish, when he went off in anger and thought that We would not decree [anything] upon him. And he called out within the darknesses, "There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers."

فَٱسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُۥ وَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُ مِنَ ٱلْغَمِّ ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نُـۨجِى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Ahmed Ali

We heard his cry, and saved him from the anguish. That is how We deliver those who believe.

Ahmed Raza Khan

We therefore heard his prayer and rescued him from grief; and similarly We shall rescue the Muslims.

Arberry

So We answered him, and delivered him out of grief; even so do, We deliver the believers.

Daryabadi

So We answered him, and We delivered him from the distress, and Thus do We deliver the believers.

Hilali & Khan

So We answered his call, and delivered him from the distress. And thus We do deliver the believers (who believe in the Oneness of Allah, abstain from evil and work righteousness).

Itani

So We answered him, and saved him from the affliction. Thus We save the faithful.

Maududi

Thereupon We accepted his prayer, and rescued him from grief. Thus do We rescue the believers.

Mubarakpuri

So We answered his call, and delivered him from the distress. And thus We do deliver the believers.

Pickthall

Then we heard his prayer and saved him from the anguish. Thus we save believers.

Qarai

So We answered his prayer and delivered him from the agony; and thus do We deliver the faithful.

Qaribullah & Darwish

We heard his prayer and saved him from grief. As such We shall save the believers.

Saheeh International

So We responded to him and saved him from the distress. And thus do We save the believers.

Sarwar

We answered his prayer and saved him from his grief. Thus We save the faithful ones.

Shakir

So We responded to him and delivered him from the grief and thus do We deliver the believers.

Wahiduddin Khan

So We heard his prayer and delivered him from sorrow. Thus shall We deliver the true believers.

Yusuf Ali

So We listened to him: and delivered him from distress: and thus do We deliver those who have faith.

Transliteration

Faistajabna lahu wanajjaynahu mina alghammi wakathalika nunjee almumineena

وَزَكَرِيَّآ إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥ رَبِّ لَا تَذَرْنِى فَرْدًا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلْوَٰرِثِينَ

21:89 — And [mention] Zechariah, when he called to his Lord, "My Lord, do not leave me alone [with no heir], while you are the best of inheritors."

فَٱسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُۥ وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُۥ يَحْيَىٰ وَأَصْلَحْنَا لَهُۥ زَوْجَهُۥٓ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ يُسَـٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ وَيَدْعُونَنَا رَغَبًا وَرَهَبًا ۖ وَكَانُوا۟ لَنَا خَـٰشِعِينَ

21:90 — So We responded to him, and We gave to him John, and amended for him his wife. Indeed, they used to hasten to good deeds and supplicate Us in hope and fear, and they were to Us humbly submissive.
