Al-Jathiyah 45:33

وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَفَلَمْ تَكُنْ ءَايَـٰتِى تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَٱسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ وَكُنتُمْ قَوْمًا مُّجْرِمِينَ

45:31 — But as for those who disbelieved, [it will be said], "Were not Our verses recited to you, but you were arrogant and became a people of criminals?

وَإِذَا قِيلَ إِنَّ وَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقٌّ وَٱلسَّاعَةُ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهَا قُلْتُم مَّا نَدْرِى مَا ٱلسَّاعَةُ إِن نَّظُنُّ إِلَّا ظَنًّا وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُسْتَيْقِنِينَ

45:32 — And when it was said, 'Indeed, the promise of Allah is truth and the Hour [is coming] - no doubt about it,' you said, 'We know not what is the Hour. We assume only assumption, and we are not convinced.' "

وَبَدَا لَهُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتُ مَا عَمِلُوا۟ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ

Ahmed Ali

The evil of what they had done will become clear to them, and they will be seized by what they had scorned.

Ahmed Raza Khan

And the evils of their deeds appeared to them, and the punishment they used to mock at encompassed them.

Arberry

And the evil deeds that they have done shall appear to them, and they shall be encompassed by that they mocked at.

Daryabadi

And there will appear Unto them the evils Of that which they had worked, and there will surround them that whereat they had been mocking.

And the evil of what they did will appear to them, and they will be completely encircled by that which they used to mock at!

The evils of what they did will become evident to them, and the very thing they ridiculed will haunt them.

(On that Day) the evil of their deeds will become apparent to them and what they had mocked at will encompass them,

And the evil of what they did will appear to them, and that which they used to mock at will completely encircle them.

And the evils of what they did will appear unto them, and that which they used to deride will befall them.

The evils of what they had done will appear to them, and they will be besieged by what they used to deride.

And the evil consequences of what they did will appear to them, and they will be enveloped by what they used to ridicule.

Their evil deeds will be revealed to them and (the torment) which they had mocked will surround them.

And the evil (consequences) of what they did shall become manifest to them and that which they mocked shall encompass them.

Wahiduddin Khan

The evil of their actions will then become clear to them. The punishment they mocked will engulf them.

Yusuf Ali

Then will appear to them the evil (fruits) of what they did, and they will be completely encircled by that which they used to mock at!

Transliteration

Wabada lahum sayyiatu ma AAamiloo wahaqa bihim ma kanoo bihi yastahzioona

وَقِيلَ ٱلْيَوْمَ نَنسَىٰكُمْ كَمَا نَسِيتُمْ لِقَآءَ يَوْمِكُمْ هَـٰذَا وَمَأْوَىٰكُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن نَّـٰصِرِينَ

45:34 — And it will be said, "Today We will forget you as you forgot the meeting of this Day of yours, and your refuge is the Fire, and for you there are no helpers.

ذَٰلِكُم بِأَنَّكُمُ ٱتَّخَذْتُمْ ءَايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ هُزُوًا وَغَرَّتْكُمُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۚ فَٱلْيَوْمَ لَا يُخْرَجُونَ مِنْهَا وَلَا هُمْ يُسْتَعْتَبُونَ

45:35 — That is because you took the verses of Allah in ridicule, and worldly life deluded you." So that Day they will not be removed from it, nor will they be asked to appease [Allah].
