Ash-Shura 42:50

فَإِنْ أَعْرَضُوا۟ فَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَـٰكَ عَلَيْهِمْ حَفِيظًا ۖ إِنْ عَلَيْكَ إِلَّا ٱلْبَلَـٰغُ ۗ وَإِنَّآ إِذَآ أَذَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِنَّا رَحْمَةً فَرِحَ بِهَا ۖ وَإِن تُصِبْهُمْ سَيِّئَةٌۢ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ فَإِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ كَفُورٌ

42:48 — But if they turn away - then We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], over them as a guardian; upon you is only [the duty of] notification. And indeed, when We let man taste mercy from us, he rejoices in it; but if evil afflicts him for what his hands have put forth, then indeed, man is ungrateful.

لِّلَّهِ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَآءُ ۚ يَهَبُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ إِنَـٰثًا وَيَهَبُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ ٱلذُّكُورَ

42:49 — To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth; He creates what he wills. He gives to whom He wills female [children], and He gives to whom He wills males.

أَوْ يُزَوِّجُهُمْ ذُكْرَانًا وَإِنَـٰثًا ۖ وَيَجْعَلُ مَن يَشَآءُ عَقِيمًا ۚ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمٌ قَدِيرٌ

Ahmed Ali

On some He bestows both sons and daughters, and some He leaves issueless. He is all-knowing and all-powerful.

Ahmed Raza Khan

Or may mix them, the sons and daughters; and may make barren whomever He wills; indeed He is All Knowing, Able.

Arberry

or He couples them, both males and females; and He makes whom He will barren. Surely He is All-knowing, All-powerful.

Daryabadi

Or He conjoineth them males and females; and He maketh barren whomsoever He will; verily He is Knower, Petent.

Hilali & Khan

Or He bestows both males and females, and He renders barren whom He wills. Verily, He is the All-Knower and is Able to do all things.

Itani

Or He combines them together, males and females; and He renders whomever He wills sterile. He is Knowledgeable and Capable.

Maududi

or grants them a mix of males and females, and causes whomever He pleases to be barren. He is All- Knowing, All-Powerful.

Mubarakpuri

Or He bestows both males and females, and He renders barren whom He wills. Verily, He is the All-Knower and is Able (to do all things).

Pickthall

Or He mingleth them, males and females, and He maketh barren whom He will. Lo! He is Knower, Powerful.

Qarai

or He combines them males and females, and makes sterile whomever He wishes. Indeed, He is all-knowing, all-powerful.

Qaribullah & Darwish

Or, He couples them, both males and females, and to others, if He will, He makes them barren. Surely, He is the Knower, the Powerful.

Saheeh International

Or He makes them [both] males and females, and He renders whom He wills barren. Indeed, He is Knowing and Competent.

Sarwar

offspring to whomever He wants. He causes whomever He wants to be childless. He is All-Knowing and All-Powerful.

Shakir

Or He makes them of both sorts, male and female; and He makes whom He pleases barren; surely He is the Knowing, the Powerful.

Wahiduddin Khan

or both male and female, and He leaves whoever He will barren; He is all-knowing and all powerful.

Yusuf Ali

Or He bestows both males and females, and He leaves barren whom He will: for He is full of Knowledge and Power.

Transliteration

Aw yuzawwijuhum thukranan wainathan wayajAAalu man yashao AAaqeeman innahu AAaleemun qadeerun

وَمَا كَانَ لِبَشَرٍ أَن يُكَلِّمَهُ ٱللَّهُ إِلَّا وَحْيًا أَوْ مِن وَرَآئِ حِجَابٍ أَوْ يُرْسِلَ رَسُولًا فَيُوحِىَ بِإِذْنِهِۦ مَا يَشَآءُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِىٌّ حَكِيمٌ

42:51 — And it is not for any human being that Allah should speak to him except by revelation or from behind a partition or that He sends a messenger to reveal, by His permission, what He wills. Indeed, He is Most High and Wise.

وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ رُوحًا مِّنْ أَمْرِنَا ۚ مَا كُنتَ تَدْرِى مَا ٱلْكِتَـٰبُ وَلَا ٱلْإِيمَـٰنُ وَلَـٰكِن جَعَلْنَـٰهُ نُورًا نَّهْدِى بِهِۦ مَن نَّشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ۚ وَإِنَّكَ لَتَهْدِىٓ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ

42:52 — And thus We have revealed to you an inspiration of Our command. You did not know what is the Book or [what is] faith, but We have made it a light by which We guide whom We will of Our servants. And indeed, [O Muhammad], you guide to a straight path -
